More Blog Neglect

I have been terrible about updating my blog lately...here are a few pictures of one of the projects that has had me distracted lately in addition to my new job, Chase's 2nd birthday, and just general life craziness. One of these days I would like to get back to crafting so that I have something to post pictures of (I must admit I have been distracted by my latest romance novel series though and I have been doing a lot of reading).

We recently changed our loft to a play area for Chase which of course meant that the office that was in the loft had to find a new home. We ended up turning our empty bedroom upstairs into an office / library / knitting / crafting room. Like Chase's playroom I still need to pick some artwork and we still need to set up a few printers but the room is close to done.

So what is next on my blog neglect list you ask?

1) We are redoing all of the french doors in our house and putting in full wall sliders. Phew that will be quite the adventure...I promise to post before and afters on that one as I am thinking it will be rather dramatic.
2) Now that the upstairs craft room is done it means that I seriously need to tackle my downstairs craft room. It is a mess though so I am not looking forward to that.

A Great Tradition

When I was VERY pregnant one of my friends wanted to do something fun but since I couldn't go far she planned a breakfast picnic at Chatfield. I ended up delivering a few days later. It has now become an annual event that I love. This year the weather was great and we all had a blast.

Breakfast Picnic I

Breakfast Picnic II

Breakfast Picnic III

I can't wait until next year!

Two Years - Happy Birthday Chase

I can't believe I have a two year old. It has gone by so fast.

Distractions

I haven't blogged in quite awhile because I have been distracted with some home improvement projects. Chase turns 2 on Friday and as part of his gift we set up a play room for him and got him a new train table. We still need to put paintings above the shelves and add the car rug that we got but it is almost done. I love the colors!

Our next big project that is currently in process is to fix up my art room and turn it into an office / library / knitting room. Pictures of that coming soon!

Also here is a hat that I recently knit for Chase. I have about 50 other projects that I need to finish but I realized that Chase didn't have any hats that were big enough for him and with the weather getting colder I wanted him to have something...

Messy Fun

This weekend Chase and I played with a new craft project. Capricious mentioned that she lets AJ paint with his trains so we jumped on that and here are a few of the photos. I am currently using the paintings and the photos to create some fun 12 x 12 scrapbooked wall hangings.

An here is Chase playing it cool...

Happy Birthday B!

Today is my wonderful husband's birthday, I started to write a blog entry about our day but I changed my mind half way through and decided that I would blog about some of B's lovable funny quirks instead.

Here are just a few random things about B - how can you not love him?

- Boris is a 100% attention loving center of the stage at all times guitar rock star. If you haven't ever seen him play you should because he is amazing.
- He has what I call the "schmooze factor" at a level that I have never seen on anyone else. He's got the skill down so well that he always gets free drinks at Starbucks because the girls there always want to make him new "special" drinks to try. He also always gets free bagels at the local bagel shop because the ladies there sneak in extras for him. Heck he even got me a huge discount on a Cricut once because he was able to schmooze the lady at JoAnns! I wish some of his skills would rub off on me but I'm unfortunately lacking in the schmooze department.
- My husband is a total stress ball / neat freak most of the time, if he can find something to stress about he does. In fact he usually spends his entire birthday being a grouchy pants because getting older and change in general stress him out. When he runs out of normal things to worry him, that's when the neat freakishness kicks in and then he starts stressing about how long it has been since he last vacuumed, dusted, etc.
- Boris has a love for Little Debbie's Swiss Cake Rolls - he can eat them by the truck load.
- He is the best daddy ever and always makes time for Chase which is so cute. I love watching them play together.

I could go on forever but I'm sure that would bore everyone so I'll stop here =)
***Happy Birthday Bo!***

On a crafting note, here is the little zippered bag that I made for B for his birthday to carry his guitar stuff in:

What Love Looks Like

Today my throat hurt, but when I got home from work this is what was waiting for me from my husband...it was what love looked like today...

As for a crafting update, because I can't seem to help myself, I took on an embroidery commission (which after hours of cursing at my embroidery machine - which wasn't working because I put the needle in wrong - yes, user error strikes again) resulted in the below towel. I was at least happy with the final result.

Since I had such a bad experience with the towel I had to make something to redeem my embroidery machine so I ended up making this little key chain for Chase's new backpack (explained below).

The below two pictures are what love looked like a few days ago...

Chase is being moved up to the next class level at his ridiculously overpriced daycare. What does that mean to me? It means that he is now required to wear a uniform. So on this particular day, love not only looked like an expensive daycare bill, but it also looked like four $20 shirts (yes freaking $20 for a shirt for a 2 year old) and a matching daycare backpack (which apparently ALL children are required to buy, hence the needing of the initials key chain - man those daycare people know how to squeeze the last penny out of sucker parents like me). Imagine how much the pants, long sleeve shirts, sweat shirts, shorts, etc are going to cost!!! It is a bit horrifying. Me and Boris = In love with Chase = Chumps.

But see how cute he is....how can we not love such a cutie?!
