Mommy Monday
Boris has band practice every Monday so we have "Mommy Mondays" around here which usually involves some kind of fun activity. Past Mommy Mondays have included Monkey Business, Ice Cream, Dinosaur Pizza, Red Robin, etc.
This week Chase and I went all out and we took our first trip to Chuck E Cheese followed by watching the Incredibles. Chase loved it - there is nothing like collecting tickets and winning prizes (and I must admit I am still a Skee Ball addict).
We are very serious gamers...
We didn't get any food so honestly it was a fairly cost effective way to spend 1.5 hrs, I think we made it out of there for about $8 worth of tokens (and most importantly in Chase's mind we left with a few little plastic toys).
Note to all you moms out there - go to their website (there are printable coupons).

Sizing Issue
Why is it that every time I try to knit an item of clothing the size is off? I'm guessing these socks are going to be huge on Chase...
Space Saving Furniture
Check out the coolest space saving furniture ever!!! (Go to space savers on the left hand side and watch a few of the videos - seriously amazing)

Ice Skating
We took Chase Ice Skating for the first time today. He was terrified and would scream every time I let go of his hand but he kept saying things like "I LOVE skating!" "This is the best day ever" "Let's do this again!" "I'm so good at this!". I don't get it...
This is what "say cheese" looks like around here.
This is how he looked when we were finished.
Aren't kiddo skates adorable!

Girly Books Galore
Last weekend I went to see Red Riding Hood with my cousin - it was one of those bad but fun movies. While I was there I saw previews for Water for Elephants and Something Borrowed - both of which I will end up seeing.
Both of the movies are based on books so I spent quite a bit of time with my nook this week and finished reading them both.
I enjoyed Water for Elephants but I am pretty excited to see the movie because I think some of the circus imagery will be even better then the author was able to describe.
Something Borrowed was one of those interesting books where a lot of women out there probably relate to the main character and have moments where they feel like her (of course the characters in the book are blown WAY out of proportion to what probably really happens in real life - but the basic traits are ones that I am all too familiar with). I am not sure the movie will be able to capture some of the character details as well as the book but we will see.
I can't wait to log some time in the theaters.

Advent Calendar
I realize this entry isn't seasonally correct but I was too excited not to post about it. I haven't checked Philigry's blog in ages but when I went the other day I discovered this adorable advent calendar. I am in love with Christmas ornaments so I think this is a really fun idea! Who wouldn't be excited about a new ornament every day.

Lose It
For all of you calorie counters out there here is an iPhone App / website that I have been using for quite awhile. It is really simple to use and it helps me keep focused on how much I am eating vs. exercising.
Also if you need some inspiration to get going I have been loving One Twenty Five's blog lately.

The Perfect "Middle of a Week"
March is free breakfast Wednesdays at Chick-Fil-A and I had the day off work so I started the morning with free chicken minis with Capricious followed by some fabric shopping and a run. It feels like a stolen day with my BFF...things don't get much better than that...
Aren't these fabrics adorable! I don't have plans for them but I couldn't resist.
PS. Our house offer fell through...Booooo....
