Puppy Love

Nothing like a Bichon bed warmer...

Vacations

B and I typically don't have much interest in travel in general but for some reason I can't stop thinking about it lately - I have an itch to go places. The list of things I want to do is growing (unfortunately Chase isn't exactly at the ideal international travel age yet so a few of the vacations may have to wait awhile).

Here is what I am starting to ponder as future vacations:
2012: Michigan
2013: Disneyland or San Diego
2014: NYC (maybe this will have to be our first "no kid" vacation)
Ireland
Mediterranean cruise
Australia

Hat Love

I got this leopard hat with scarf mittens hanging off the ends for Chase - I couldn't resist - I hope Chase loves it. I am ready for cold weather.

PS. I had to model the hat because I haven't given it to Chase yet...I was thinking Christmas but by then he would miss so many leopard hat wearing opportunities!

My Brave Little Boy

Chase is a total trooper! We went for a Tag-A-Long bike ride and he hit a bump flew through the air then landed on the bike wheel and got a nice little tire burn (all without letting go). He then proceeded to get back on the bike and he finished a 45 minute trail ride. My kiddo is way tougher then I am! Go Chase!

Poor Car

It is a serious bummer on a rainy Monday to wake up and find out that your car won't start...it is also a serious bummer for your dad whose has to come take your kid to school...and for your husband who has to drive back from work to help you get your car to the shop...

Week One - Done and Done

I have been on my weight loss kick for one week now and the first week was very successful! Hooray! I biked, ran, did yoga, and pretty much stuck to the plan. Yesterday I even did a P90x workout (I don't think I will stick to the entire program because I don't have the time but I am going to try to squeeze in a few of the videos each week). The workout reminded me that I am missing muscle and need to tone up again too.

I will admit that I still spend way too much time thinking about delicious unhealthy food but if I am lucky those cravings will pass soon (or may they won't and I will have to continue along on will power alone...)

Loss last week: 5 lbs
Current weight: 138.8
Goal for the next week: Get down to 135 by next Monday

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins today...it was a blast.

Here are uncle and Chase pretending to eat pumpkin guts.

Chase decided to decorate his pumpkins with a Sharpie and tape and many many holes.

Graham did the cool Hulk pumpkin, B did the Thundercats pumpkin, and I went for the Angry Birds pumpkin (I have to admit I was going to do a Twilight pumpkin but it exceeded my pumpkin carving abilities).

This one is going to be sweeeeet on Halloween (we got a glowing flashing multicolored light thing for it).

And of course B requested some pumpkin seeds - they were delicious.

Here is a random picture of a visitor we had today...

Maybe Soon...

Things on my "if there were only extra hours in the day (and maybe extra $ in the bank)" list:
- Pumpkin carving
- Family photos (it has been forever since we had professional photos taken)
- Swim lessons for Chase (maybe Karate or Baseball or Soccer too?)
- Manicure / Pedicure / massage / spa day (yes please!)
- Wine and Painting with girlfriends
- Zumba / Ballet / Spin classes
- Homemade dinners every night
- String quilt / Cathedral quilt / Apple Core quilt
- Finishing the knitting projects I am working on / general other crafting
- Early start on Christmas shopping
- Halloween party and or a Winter Solstice party
- Clothes shopping / Accessory shopping (or maybe just an entire head to toe makeover)
- Dinner at Texas de Brazil
- Movies at the movie theater
- Plan a vacation or a trip somewhere outside the state / country
- Get another tattoo

I'm sure there are other things but since it will probably take me years to accomplish this list I better stop =)

ModCloth.com

I found the ModCloth.com website. Their stuff is so fun.

I love this jersey knit dress it looks comfy yet stylish.

Wouldn't this dress be perfect with a jean jacket and boots?

Classy

I need this belt for my sweater dress!

This coat is so bold but I love it!

I wish someone would have a Christmas party so I could buy this dress!

No More Excuses

So let's be honest - my weight and I have not been friends lately. Every day I get up and dread getting dressed because nothing fits right anymore (some things just don't fit at all let alone fit right...)

Today is get healthy (again...) DAY 1. Today I am going to start eating right and taking better care of myself.

Realistic Goal Weight: 135 to 137 (if I can get back here at least my clothes will fit again)
In My Dreams Weight: 125 (but I must admit that even at my fittest/skinniest I only got to 127 so this may not be a maintainable weight for me - but a girl can dream right?)
Fitness Goal: I have been starting to ponder doing a triathlon next year

So here we go, wish me luck, I need it - self disciple isn't my strong point (especially when it comes to food)!

Spooky

We did some Halloween decorating today - the barn door looks great. Just some lights left to hang tomorrow.

The front door looks really cool with all the lights off.

Accessories

I look at these and think "being fashionable can't be THAT hard" and yet I am pretty much a miserable fail at it. I think my problem is that I don't accessorize. I need to learn to rock scarves, belts, fashion jewelry, sun glasses, etc.
