A Walkydog Review

Apparently this little powder puff loves me more then I would have guessed. Stark and I left on our regular bike ride but this time Jaxx was out in the garage with G and B. When I left I guess Jaxx took off and was frantically running around trying to find me (he wasn't at all comforted that G and B were still with him)!  Poor thing!  So when I got home I ended up taking him out for a bike ride/run too and he loved it!

Walkydog Review:

So far I would say our new Walkydog gets an A. Installation was a snap and it is really nice to be able to take the device on and off within seconds.  The only two things are that 1) I think we need to get a leash extension for Stark because he is afraid of running so close to the bike and 2) we need a leash extension for Jaxx bcause he is so short (both problems solved with 1 simple fix). As far as safety though the Walkydog is perfect, left hand turns are a lot easier when you aren't worried about riding over your dog and really the way the attachment is designed, Stark (who is over 60 lbs now) can't pull me over even if he is trying to get at another dog or a bird. As long as you are moving it is very stable (when you are stopped a big dog could definitely knock you over).  If you want to regularly bike with your dog I highly recommend a Walkydog.

Food Cravings

For some unexplainable reason all I can think about is Mexican food. Carnitas, shrimp fajitas, and queso. My craving is bordering on obsession.

H2O4K9

I got Stark two of these doggie water bottles (where the lid acts as a drinking cup).  Perfect for a dog on the go.  I almost wonder if I am going to regret not getting the bottle below (with the fold out drinking lid) but they were plastic and I wanted a metal bottle).

Another Lap Quilt

I have totally lost my sewing mojo lately. Maybe it is the heat, maybe it is that I have been using my sewing time to exercise, maybe it is because I was spending my time reading about Mr. Grey's Red Room of Pain, maybe it is because I have been visitin with friends and neighbors a ton lately, maybe it is because work has been busier...  Who knows...  But I did promise B I would finish this lap quilt for his mom. So welcome back sewing mojo, even if it is temporary.

Fifty Shades (of a typical romance novel)

I finished the Fifty Shades trilogy, here are my thoughts:
- I can't believe this is on all of the best seller lists (it is basically just a romance novel - who knew there were so many romance novel lovers out there?!)
- Honestly the three books could have been consolidated into one.  It was a bit drawn out and repetitive.
- If you have ever read the book Whitney My Love this story line is almost exactly the same (only the book isn't written as well).  It is just a modern version.  It follows the typical romance novel story line (rich sexy untouchable man with a bunch of baggage meets somewhat ordinary girl and is drawn to her for unknown reasons, after he actively pursues her they fall in love in a whirlwind romance, then they have to have some big blow up fight over something and the man has to come back after the realizes he can't live without the girl - whom he really fell in love with the first time they met and who has somehow touched the untouchable and saved his soul, then they have a bit of romantic bliss until girl gets pregnant and man doesn't react well - insert more fighting here, some kind of other event brings them back together and they live happily ever after).  I think I have read a zillion romance novels with the same or a very similar story - plus or minus the baby part.
- All that said if you are a romance novel reader you will enjoy the books (regular book readers maybe not for you?).

Horseback Riding

Chase went on his first horseback riding trip!

He loved it, his horse's name was Whitestripe (because it had 1 white foot).  I ended up ridding Laddie.  Very fun activity!

The Passage

I just finished The Passage the other day. It had slow parts and wasn't exactly a quick read but by page 500 or so I was hooked and I will probably get suckered into reading the next book this fall.

Now I am on to Fifty Shades of Grey - I'll let you know how it goes (so far the first few chapters have been promising).
