Here's a tip for all you ladies who love bling as much as I do. Nordstoms sells amazing CZ earrings that look real and are in everybody's price range. These beauties are 1.5 carats per ear but they have a ton of different sizes (from delicate to Holy Moly). So next time you are looking to treat yourself swing by the jewelry department.
The whole family got Toms today so pretty soon there will be three more sets of barefoot kiddos with shoes out there. Btw these things are sooooo comfy! I am debating exchanging them for the red ones but I figure gray is more practical for work. Maybe I will have to get a pair of the slippers too.
We kicked off the event with some egg dying (this year we went for marbled eggs - the trick to marbled eggs is to put 2 - 3 tablespoons of oil into the dye before you start dunking your eggs).
Chase took egg dying very seriously...
This year Chase's basket was hidden in the coat closet. He loved his basket and determined that the bunny must know him very well.
After the basket hunting G and I knocked out a 6 mile run (I just couldn't commit to do the 9 mile run that was on the schedule). We followed the run with a delicious family brunch. I love quiche.
Back at home we did a neighborhood alley egg hunt and potluck / happy hour. Just about every neighbor came and we played hard until bedtime. I love our block! I hid about 150 eggs and there were only 7 kids and 3 didn't want to hunt - let's just say the kids that decided to hunt ended up doing fairly well for themselves.
Last night I was cold and I made Boris sit under blankets with me to warm up while we watched TV. I was feeling sick and was crabby and B kept farting under the covers. G captured the moment perfectly...
We had our front patio poured this evening! Everything was going great and the patio was almost smooth and then Chase decided to let the dogs out and they ran all over the wet concrete! Luckily the guy was really nice and re-did the smoothing. Chase felt bad though and was so sad he almost refused to do handprints - but in the end he did and all is well and hopefully by Easter we will be out sitting on our new patio!
