Sharknado 2

B and I watched Sharknado 2 last night. Worst movie ever, so bad you can't stop watching.

If you want a good laugh download the Go Shark Yourself app. I think it is hilarious. Nothing like a photo of yourself getting eaten or surrounded by Sharknados hahaha.

Hoodie

I just finished this T Shirt hoodie for Chase. I didn't get the bottom of the collar quite right but otherwise I think it is fun. I have never made anything out of Jersey fabric like this before.

Salon Effects

I never paint my finger nails because when you have kids there just isn't enough time to properly let them dry.  I have tried gel polish before and it totally wrecks my nails and makes them peel and break.

I decided to try Sally Hansens Salon Effects.

The application was really easy (took about 20 minutes) and the result is pretty impressive. I cut the strips in half because they were so long and so I will be able to get double the number of applications from a pack. Even if they only last a few days it is totally worth it!  Cheaper then a manicure and from my experience manicures chip in a few days anyways.

The design I tried is a little funky for my taste but I wanted something fun. I got a glitter pack to try too but I am the most excited about the french manicure kit!

Update:  They lasted about 6 days before the nail growth bothered me enough to remove them. They just barely started chipping at 6 days also. They were easily removed with nail polish remover and don't seem to have damaged my nails at all. Overall I am happy with them.

Zentangle

I was at the art store today and was inspired to try Zentagle doodling.

Ick!

Our house was recently hit with the plague. K has a double ear infection and hand foot and mouth. B has hand foot and mouth. C has mono and some crazy all over viral rash. I keep waiting to see what unlucky illness I will catch.

In more exciting news Keira has taken her first steps. She went from barely taking 1 step yesterday to taking 6 today!  So fun.

Date Night

B and I haven't had a date night away from the kids in ages. Our amazing friend is watching the kiddos so we can have a whole overnight away!  I forgot how much fun it is not to have any responsibilities.

We had dinner at McCormicks and Schmick's, did a little shopping, and hit PF Changs for dessert. Doesn't get much better then that...the best part is that we are already anticipating an undisturbed night of sleep *sigh* what bliss.

PS. Apparently B just discovered an article that states that flatulence can prevent illness - so fart on people, fart on!

Manduka Go Play Review

I have a Manduka yoga mat (that I love) and it is a bit too thick and too wide for some of the standard carrying bags. It also doesn't stay rolled up well so is a pain to drag around. I ordered A Manduka Go Play and I am thrilled. The adjustable clip straps are easy to use, stay closed way better then D rings and could fit many different sized mats. It even fits a yogi toes towel wrapped inside my super thick mat. The zipper pocket is perfect for keys, a cell phone, and a small wallet or a few cards. The only thing that doesn't fit is a water bottle.  I would highly recommend the Go Play - it makes carrying a heavy large mat way easier and consolidates all the other things I bring into one place.

Wooden Path

B and I spent the weekend building this wooden path.  I am so excited - I love the finished product.

Then we celebrated with a bit of this...

Happy 4th of July

One of our neighbors had a few fireworks and Chase thought they were the coolest thing ever.

The sparklers made him a little nervous (sparklers are my favorite).

He was so excited he could hardly contain himself.

Happy 4th!

WW2 Pops Camp

Last week Chase didn't have camp so he spent a week at Pops camp (it is truly the happiest place on Earth for that boy). He was highly disappointed that it was a holiday week so it was only 4 days of fun. They played games, played catch, saw an IMAX, built models, and even saw a tank.
