Christmas Moments
Our family had a bit of a rough holiday this year, I won't get into the details but I thought that instead of posting all of my holiday complaints I would post Chase's top hilarious / touching / aren't 2 year olds wonderful moments.
Moment 1)
Earlier today B and I were upstairs and Chase was downstairs decorating his brand new "house". He kept saying he was doing his "work". Chase suddenly started yelling up to us "Red Face...Mommy See Red Face...Look at Red Face!!!". I had NO CLUE what he was talking about until he came running upstairs....
Apparently I didn't learn my lesson because this is what Chase's face looked like later in the afternoon....
Here is the lovely house that he decorated.
Moment 2)
We were driving to my parent's house for Christmas and Chase kept pointing at a homeless man saying "What's that mommy what's that...." He was insistent because I think it looked out of the norm to him, so I said "Chase some people don't have homes..." and he said "That's really sad mommy". It made me tear up...I am amazed at how young of an age kids notice things like that.
Moment 3)
My aunt and her two daughters were kind enough to watch Chase while B and I grabbed dinner at our favorite restaurant and while we were picking him up and getting him changed into his jammies he proudly announced to everyone "Look at my pee pee it's huge!" LOL...apparently even 2 year old "men" think that size matters.
One last thought, we keep asking Chase what he liked the most about Christmas and he says "the CAAAANDY" in a drawn out adoring voice.

Plain Simple, Plain Wonderful!
I am so excited! My Plain Simple quilt is done! It was a Christmas gift for my mom and I am really happy with how it turned out. It is the first time I have ever done a queen sized quilt before. I sent it out to the Back Porch Quilters to have it quilted.
Here are two things I learned:
- don't iron seams open, iron them all to one side
- I am actually better at blind stitch than I thought I was
I can't wait to do another one.

Christmas Crafting
This year I made many of my Christmas gifts. Here are some great patterns in case you want to try them. I didn't have time to take nice pictures so I apologize for the poor quality of my photos but I included the photos from the patterns which are a lot better.
FELT PILLOW - I love this and I am going to have to make one for myself!
Here is my pillow. The only tip I have is that I crammed my rosettes way too close together so I needed more than double what the instructions said so be sure to space our your rosettes!
BELLA'S MITTENS - I made a couple pairs of these and I still have requests for more, they are a big hit!
Here is a terrible picture of one of the pairs I made, I swear they are way cuter in person and on a model.
STUFFED PICTURE ORNAMENTS - I got the idea from a blog I follow and I was happy with how they turned out. The one tip I have is that I tried to use a straight stitch on the vinyl and that didn't work so well so I would recommend either a blanket stitch or a zigzag stitch. Also I liked the 8 gauge vinyl the best.
SLOUCHY HATS - I made one of these using a bulky yarn instead of super bulky and I was really happy with how it turned out, I am in the process of knitting a second one with super bulky yarn...pictures to come soon.
Yes the photo is terrible....
POTATO CHIP SCARF - I actually made a few of these but I forgot to take pictures. I used a bulky yarn and really liked the results, I also did a shorter super bulky scarf. I really like this pattern, it can be found on Ravelry.
QUILTED FRAME - This is one of my favorite things that I made this year, I took a metal frame and used paper to quilt the frame. I love the results!
There are a few more handmade presents that need to be photographed and posted but I haven't given them away yet so I don't want to spoil the surprise by posting here.
Lastly, here is an adorable photo of Chase at his Christmas performance.

Operate with Care
Here are today's top three reasons why chronically ill people with head colds should not be allowed to operate machinery.
1) Backing into parked cars while pulling out of a parking spot (I swear it came out of no where)
2) Driving over LARGE hunks of ice that are in the middle of the highway for reasons I can't explain
3) Shutting the garage door on your bumper and scratching the heck out of it (aren't there sensors for that?!)
Yes, I have had better days...

I just can't focus!
For some reason I just can't focus lately. There are Christmas gifts to be made, there are house renovations startings, there is a sick two year old to be taken care of, there is Firefly to watch, there are girls nights that need to be organized, there are parties to go to, there are family pictures that need to be taken, there are calendars that need to be made, scrapbooks that need to be finished (heck started at this rate), my Etsy shop is in desperate need of an overhaul, and yet there isn't enough time to do nearly enough of the things I want to do. Oh yah and I guess I have to remember to also go to work, clean the house, and take care of regular duties.
That being said, I am guessing my blog may suffer while I run off to take care of other things...
(It's really too bad because I have some great crafting going on lately, I'll at least try to take pictures to post in January when life settles down again.)

Dragon Cuteness
This year for Halloween Chase was the cutest dragon I've ever seen. When he walked his tail would "wag". He was so excited about Trick or Treating - what a cutie!
Here is a little zipper pouch that I whipped up this morning. I like to carry around a diaper, wipes, and a few other "Chase Supplies" in my purse and I decided that it was time to upgrade from the gallon sized Ziplock I had been using. The only thing that I wish I had done differently was that I forgot to top stitch near the zipper.

Pumpkin Carving
We started Halloween off by doing a little pumpkin carving this year. It was the first time either Chase or Boris had ever carved a pumpkin! Chase is truly is father's son, he was horrified by the mess the pumpkin guts made!
Next we decided to make a pumpkin headed snowman. Isn't that how everyone spends Halloween?
Here is Chase trying to sneak off for some early Trick or Treating...
Hopefully the rest of the day is as fun as the morning was!
