Triangle Quilt
It's finally done!!! My first triangle scrap quilt. It is about 70 inches square, the perfect size for snuggling on the couch with or taking to a picnic. This quilt is going to be a gift for a coworker and I hope it gets the love and use that I would give it if it were mine.
I love all of the colors in this quilt, the colors remind me of spring / summer and make me happy. Also since it is a scrap quilt each fabric reminds me of another project I have worked on.
I love how it turned out it is nice and crinkly.
The backing is simple but I love the fabric.
Can you tell that I am happy with it. =)
Strike!

Bones
You probably wonder why I haven't been blogging lately. I could probably say that it is because it is summer and the weather has been nicer or because I have been busy at work or because I've had a bad cold but the truth is that the major distractor lately has been the Fox TV series Bones. I am hooked, in love in fact. I have already watched all 5 seasons and I can't wait for the next season to come out. The show is about a forensic anthropologist and her partner who is an FBI agent (and is played by the ever hot David Boreanaz - I became hooked on him during Buffy the Vampire slayer).
I love the series so much that I decided to give the books the show was based off of a go. The first book is De Ja Dead. I must admit that it starts off a little bit slow and it may have slightly too many historical side tracks for me but overall it was fun to read. I am half way through the second book already.

Party Decorations
Last weekend I threw a sewing birthday part for Capricious. We had a great time!
Here is a recipe for the Sangria we had.
Peach-Riesling Sangria
750-ml bottle dry Riesling (I actually used a sweet orange flavored white wine)
1 1/2 cups white cranberry-peach drink
1/2 cup peach schnapps
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (I used about 6 table spoons of frozen lemonade concentrate)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise (I skipped this)
2 1/2-inch-thick lemon slices
2 1/2-inch-thick orange slices (I added extra oranges)
2 peaches, cut into wedges (I went with frozen peaches)
10 fresh raspberries
3 cups ice cubes (I skipped the ice and just refrigerated instead)
I also added about 3/4 of a can of Sprite
Mix first 5 ingredients in large pitcher. Scrape in seeds from vanilla bean; add bean and stir to blend. Mix in fruit. Cover and chill overnight (I chilled for about 4 hours). Mix in ice and serve.
Here are a few of the decorations!
