We did two types of Easter egg dying this year. The first kind was "volcanic" eggs where you take crayon shavings and put them on hot eggs right out of the boiling pot. We discovered that for a truly "explosive" effect it was better to use a heat gun rather then rely on the egg being hot enough. A tip on these - don't buy the kit, just buy a box of crayons and a sharpener. Fun finished product though!
The other type of egg we did was 14 "carrot" gold eggs. The kit included gold paint that you mixed with colored dye and used Q-Tips to paint on. The gold didn't cover as evenly as we would have liked and was a little chunky but Chase is very into painting right now and loved the process.
Looking forward to tomorrow!
