Advent Calendar

Capricious and I are planning on doing a craft fair this summer and we were thinking Christmas in July. Here is the first Advent calendar I made.

Yard Art

Capricious and I went to the craft market and I got a candle that smells like a blueberry muffin and a metal pig for the front yard (isn't he cute)!  Capricious also found Chase a giant caterpillar - it is seriously the size of my pinky!  Anyone know what kind it is???

Pedicure Love

I love how pedicures make you feel human again. I love girly toes. The girl next to me was having her toes painted white and I was intrigued so I ditched the hot pink I had and went white. I love it!

Another IKEA Idea

I love IKEA stuff!  We found these perfect picture shelves there. It is a great way to decorate a large area.

Chase's Graduation

Chase "graduated" from preschool today (not sure how I feel about a graduation for every year but it seems to be the trendy thing now a days).  Honestly I felt rather out of place in my jeans and sweater given that all the other moms were in teeny tiny little dresses / full make up / and heels.  Not to mention all the grandparents that had flown in for the event?!  I suppose I don't really fit in with the moms at Chase's school - granted I couldn't even motivate myself to go to my own high school or college graduations so maybe me and graduations just don't mix.  Chase had a good time although he was rather over stimulated by the event which resulted in some wild and silly behavior.  We ended the morning with lunch with Pops and a quick Skylanders level - the perfect way to wrap up a school year (or as Chase would say "only until Tuesday" when summer school starts).

Next year he is off to Kindergarden - wow!

A Great Weekend

Here are a few of my favorite weekend photos.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there (especially to my mom - the best mom in the world!)

It's been quite a Mother's day weekend!  I made my mom the above little purse - so cute.

I have been totally spoiled all weekend!  What fun!

We did end the weekend with some barfing by Chase at our Mother's day dinner but you know I guess that's how life goes.   Still the best weekend ever.

Another Zipper Pouch

Love these pouches!!!

A Lined Zipper Pouch

Check out the adorable lined flat zipper pouch I made today. This is the fastest easiest project - I want to make billions of them!  Here is the tutorial I used:

Wake Up World

This is what my adorable family looks like first thing on a Saturday morning. Sleepy goodness :)

Mother's Day Art

Check out the cute card Chase made me at school. Don't you love the oversized belly button and butt. Lol.

Applique Pillow

Chase has been so jealous that I have been sewing and making stuff to sell (or in his mind for other people) and he keeps asking when I am going to make him something so I whipped up this little embroidered pillow for him. It gave me a good excuse to try the applique feature on my machine too!

Modern Twin Quilt

I finally finished this twin quilt!  I have had the top done forever but had to quilt and bind it.

Mid-Air Adventures

If you live in the Denver area and are looking for a fun kids activity I highly recommend Mid Air adventure. It has a few climbing walls and more importantly a bunch of zip lines. Chase was a little nervous at first but ended up having a blast.

White on White

I made my first white on white baby quilt with lime green and electric blue binding. The pictures don't really do the quilt justice it is cuter in person. I was a little bummed that the detail is so hard to see. Not sure if it is because the flowes are too far apart or if it is because I used warm and natural batting and the quilt is crinkly or if that is just the nature of white on white. It would be a cute table runner but for the next quilt I will probably use colored thread.

Bugsy Love

We had to put our dog Bugsy down last weekend and I was too sad to blog about it but I am doing better now. Bugsy was our first family pet and we will all miss him.

Baby Quilt

One of my neighbors is having a baby girl and they decided on a peachy pink nursery so I made them this baby quilt. I am in love with the backing fabric and the brown polka dot binding is so fun. Every baby girl needs a quilt like this right?
